How will the Swiss protecprotective forest develop in the future as a result of climate change? In the project "the future of the protective forest", I visually analyzed this question using forest data showing the development of suitable future-proof tree species from 1985 to 2015 and tried to make a statement.
I used Adobe XD, Illustrator and the P5.js library in the code to implement this website.
PROCESS
At the beginning of the project I received data from the Swiss National Forest Inventory. After analyzing the data, I decided to create a visualization of the data that shows how well a tree is coping with climate change. Over the years, I visualized the number of eight tree species per canton in Switzerland. To develop the concept, I made sketches of the individual tree elements and their arrangement. In the next step, I programmed the individual tree elements and mapped them onto a surface. In Adobe XD, I created and designed the flow and functions of the website. The project was completed by merging images from the code, the elements I had designed in Illustrator, and the structure of the website. In the end, I had a clickable Adobe XD prototype.
